Gyeongbok Palace
was built in 1394 as the main palace of the Joseon Dynasty.
An impressive history and Palace set in the heart of
Seoul's bustling outer world.
Deoksugun
Palace - one
of its buildings now houses the Royal Museum, which
preserves sophisticated royal court articles.

National Folk Museum
features
aspects of both the traditional folk culture of ordinary
people and that of the aristocracy, centering particularly
on the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). You
can compare the cultural characteristics and vestiges
by period and you can see the development of pottery,
agriculture and prints, tools for farming, hunting,
fishing, along with clothes and houses. Devoted
to the study, collection, and preservation of folk artifacts,
it is also a forum for social education on folk culture
through exhibitions and classes, which are designed
to provide a better understanding of traditional Korean
culture.

The
Korean Folk Village
is an open-air folk museum and international tourist
attraction for both Korean and foreign visitors. It
is the home of the true Korean heritage where many features
of the Korean culture have been collected and preserved
for succeeding generations to see and learn about. The
village is located outside of Seoul.
There is another place in Seoul
- Namsangol Traditional Village.
Foreigners can take pictures here wearing traditional
wedding costumes.

COEX Mall
is a huge mall along the underground labyrinth with
ultra modern design. Here you can shop till you drop,
grab a coffee and it also is home to a movie theatre
and Aquarium.
COEX Aquarium
located inside COEX Mall
shows more than 40,000 fish and dozens of big sharks.

Nanta Performance
is a combination of traditional Korean folk performance
and western art. On the stage is a giant kitchen, the
4 cooks appear and start cooking dishes using rhythm
and beats.
Tokebi Storm Performance
(a winner of Herald Angel Award in Edinburgh Fringe
Festival) - a very unique non-verbal music performance
composed of specialized performers and the representative
character of Korea.

Namdaemun market
is one of the largest general open markets covering
various items. It functions as a wholesaler and retailer
of textile goods, miscellaneous goods for everyday use,
industrial products such as kitchen supplies, folk artworks,
local products, accessories, imported goods, groceries,
agricultural and marine products as well as children's
clothes, men's clothes and women's clothes at a lower
than usual retail price.
Each store produces most of
the goods directly, open hours vary by store however
many are open late. Some stores also allow you to bargain.
The phrase "KAKKA JUSEYO" is a helpful tip
meaning - lower the price please!
